18th Annual Panther Shootout – November 28th & 29th

AYSO Region 42 in Newbury Park, CA is proud to invite your teams to the 18th Annual Panther Shootout. This tournament is an All-Star tournament and will be held over Thanksgiving weekend; Friday and Saturday, November 28th and 29th. All games are held at Pepper Tree Playfields in Newbury Park; parking is free and no pets are allowed at the fields.

Our tournament format is unique and extremely fun for the participants. Every preliminary game ends in a shootout, but without the usual pressure. We will award trophies for first, second and third place teams as well as participation awards for fourth place teams. Special awards will also be given out to the winners of the PK “Shootouts”.

The tournament rules are available in the forms section below, but the structure of the tournament is as follows:

-Division U-14 will play 11 v 11
-Division U-12 will play 9 v 9
-Division U-10 will play 7 v 7

The Panther Shootout Tournament is open to all AYSO boys and girls All-Star teams in age divisions: U-14, U-12, and U-10. All players must be registered to play in the AYSO 2014 primary season. Guest players will be allowed (3 maximum per team).

This is a pool play tournament. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games in pool play. The top teams will advance to the medal round on Saturday afternoon. All pool play games will be as follows: 25 minute halves for U-14, 25 minute halves for U-12, and 24 minute halves for U-10. After each pool play game, each team takes part in the “Shootout” competition.

Newbury Park, California is located about 12 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in beautiful Ventura County. It is nestled against the Santa Monica Mountains about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 55 miles southeast of Santa Barbara, surrounded by the city of Thousand Oaks and borders U.S. Highway 101.
